Uganda Chamber of Commerce has launched a national wide business engagement programme code named ‘BUSINESS REVOLUTION’. The programme involves 4 major activities;
Business consultative platform (QA)
Where local business operators interface with trade facilitating institutions such as URA, UNBS, Uganda Insurers Association, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Exports Promotions Board and respective local Governments.
The platform aims at on spot capturing of concerns and challenges impeding doing of business at localized level and for the respective institution representatives to communicate solutions direct to the business community.
In line with National Development plan 2015/ 16- 2019/20 aspirations of strengthening Uganda’s competitiveness for sustainable wealth creation, the chamber has developed business upgrading training curriculum for micro, small and medium enterprises. As part of the programme local business groups are trained about financial discipline, risk management, business recording, product diversification, branding, business transiting etc.
Here UNCCI undertakes to ensure that businesses do register with their respective local bodies, national registrations service bureau and umbrella bodies. The programme activity involves mass media Sensitization and running of Registration clinics in respective localities to ease the burden of travelling to Kampala.
The key activity of the programme is for UNCCI to engage local business leaders to come up with their local area supply and demand inventories that would enable chamber of commerce to promote business networks and local –local investment partnerships
