Supporting vocational skills development
In Uganda, there has for long been a problem of a high unskilled labor force coupled up with high unemployment rates. This has led the Chamber to act in order to solve this problem by supporting vocational skills development so as to create a brighter future for Ugandans by empowering them with developmental and practical skills which can help in the long term eradication of poverty.
With support from partners, the chamber has been able to influence decisions concerning vocational training and to highlight the importance of increased government support for vocational training. Vocational institutions in Uganda had for a long time been neglected and yet they play a very central role in the development process of a nation by adding value to labor through empowering people with practical skills that they can use to help them generate substantial incomes.
